Deanne Parker's Adelaide home is abuzz with excitement. Her new Tupperware Manager car arrived the previous night and the whole family is keen to press every button and open every compartment. 'My girls watched a DVD when I took them to school this morning,' Deanne laughs. The car in question, a sleek silver Ford Territory with a range of features including leather seats, reversing camera and tinted windows, is reward for Deanne's work as a Tupperware Executive Group Manager, a title she has only recently achieved. It also recognises a successful Tupperware career that began more than four years ago and has since taken this 37-year-old mother of two on a ride she readily admits has not only been 'amazing' but has surprised even herself. 'I had never been career focused -- probably because in my last job there was no direction or opportunity for promotion,' Deanne says. That all changed the day Deanne decided to take a gamble on Tupperware, tossing in her job as a sales training consultant with an Adelaide credit union. 'I had been with the company for 13 years and no matter how hard I worked and the person next to me didn't, we both received the same salary. I found that incredibly frustrating,' she says. Around the same time, Deanne held a Tupperware party at her home and while reading through the information left, she was shocked to learn that the Demonstrator had earned around $140 for her efforts on the day. 'I couldn't believe it -- I thought: 'I can do that!' Deanne's original aim in joining Tupperware was to earn enough money to pay the mortgage. 'But Tupperware dangles too many carrots in front of you and before long I was looking for greater challenges,' she jokes. With two young children at the time (Deanne and husband Geoff have Charlotte, 9 and Imogen, 7) Deanne was also looking for work that would put an end to the daycare cycle, which often meant dropping the girls off and picking them up in the dark, only to get home tired and then have to think about organising dinner. 'I wish I had known about Tupperware when my children were small -- it's the perfect job for those wanting to earn money, but who still want to be around for their children when they are young.' Deanne's rise through the Tupperware ranks has been steady but gradual. Within three months of joining she was a Manager, and while she admits she's had to work for her success, Deanne says thankfully she hasn't had to sacrifice family life in the process. 'You do have to put effort into this business -- nothing worthwhile is easy, but the rewards are amazing. ' Thanks to Tupperware, over the past few years Deanne has received Company paid-for trips to Phuket and Hong Kong, while her income has paid for major home renovations, including a new kitchen and bathroom. Deanne is adamant when she says joining Tupperware has been 'a life changing experience'. 'Four years ago our family had no real direction; we were just living day to day and not thinking about where we could be. Now, thanks to Tupperware, we have so many opportunities to achieve personal and financial goals, and so much to look forward to.' Family Time
